Frequently asked questions

Practical answers before families begin

Find practical answers about registration, approval, horoscope guidance, verification, privacy, safety, support, and payments.

Before browsing opens

Profiles are not open immediately after signup

Browsing opens once your biodata is submitted properly and at least one primary photo is approved — so every profile your family meets has been through the same review.

Direct family verification

Review helps, but it is not the final proof

Families should still confirm important details such as education, work, income, family background, and expectations directly with each other before fixing anything.

What families ask first

The main questions before getting started

  • Registration and admin approval
  • Horoscope guidance and decision making
  • Verification, privacy, and member conduct
  • Reporting, refunds, and official support

Getting started

How registration begins

Start here for the basic questions families usually ask before creating an account.

How do I register on Sri Gayathri Matrimony?

You can register by creating an account with your email ID and password, then completing the required profile details.

  • Create the account using your email ID and password
  • Fill in your biodata and partner preferences
  • Upload your photos
  • Submit the profile for admin review

After submission, the profile goes through admin review before full activation.

Is this a dating website?

No. This is a traditional Hindu matrimony service for serious marriage-minded adults and families who are looking for a life partner. It is not meant for casual dating, temporary relationships, or live-in arrangements.

Can parents or relatives help with the profile?

Yes. Parents, siblings, guardians, or close relatives may create and manage the profile on behalf of the bride or groom, as long as the details shared are accurate and communicated honestly.

Will I only see Brahmin profiles here?

Yes. Sri Gayathri Matrimony is a dedicated Brahmin matrimony. Every profile you see, match with, or contact belongs to a Brahmin family — Smartha (Advaita), Madhwa / Vaishnava (Dvaita), or Sri Vaishnava / Iyengar (Vishishtadvaita) — never a mixed pool. You can narrow further by sampradaya, gothra, sub-community, and native place.

Approval and browsing

Why browsing opens only after review

Browsing opens only after review — here is what happens between creating an account and seeing your first matches.

Why is admin approval required before viewing matches?

To maintain profile quality, reduce fake registrations, and improve trust and safety, every profile and uploaded photo is reviewed by the admin team. Only approved members can browse matches and use the platform fully.

Can someone browse profiles immediately after registering?

No. You must first complete the required profile steps:

  • Complete your biodata
  • Upload the required photos
  • Submit your profile
  • Receive admin approval

Once approved, your family can browse profiles and see matches.

Why are some profiles rejected or delayed during approval?

Profiles are usually delayed or rejected for one of these reasons:

  • Incomplete biodata
  • Improper or unclear photos
  • Suspicious or misleading information
  • Duplicate accounts
  • Community mismatch
  • Rule violations

Fixing the highlighted issue and resubmitting usually resolves it.

Can I edit my profile after approval?

Once your profile is approved, biodata cannot be edited directly. To change any field, you send a biodata change request to the matrimony team — with the field name and the value you want updated — and the admin team makes the change after review. This keeps approved profiles accurate and trustworthy for everyone.

Will my contact number be publicly visible?

They are not shown openly on profiles. A member sees another member's phone number and email only by using the Reveal Contact feature — until someone reveals it, the contact stays hidden.

Horoscope and decision making

What horoscope matching can and cannot decide

Traditional horoscope matching can be part of the decision process, but it should not be treated as the only final answer.

Does horoscope matching or Guna Koota guarantee a successful marriage?

No. Horoscope compatibility and Guna Koota are traditional Vedic astrology indicators that may help families understand compatibility tendencies, but a successful marriage also depends on:

  • Mutual respect
  • Communication
  • Emotional maturity
  • Financial responsibility
  • Family understanding
  • Shared values
  • Effort from both partners

Marriage should never depend only on horoscope scores.

What if horoscope matching is low but both families are comfortable?

Many successful marriages exist with low horoscope scores, and some high-score matches may still face difficulties. Horoscope matching should be treated as one decision factor, not the only deciding factor.

Verification and trust

What we review and what families must still verify

Manual review can improve trust, but important life decisions still require direct personal verification by the families involved.

Do you verify salary, education, property, caste, or family background?

No. Users and families are responsible for personally verifying important details such as:

  • Education qualifications
  • Employment details
  • Salary claims
  • Property ownership
  • Family background
  • Horoscope details
  • Health conditions
  • Government documents
  • Marital status

Unless a detail is clearly marked as reviewed, confirming it remains the family's own responsibility.

Are all profiles genuine?

Manual review and moderation keep fake or misleading profiles down, but no review replaces personal judgment — always confirm the important details independently before going further.

What does a verified badge mean?

It means the member completed Government ID verification and our team reviewed it. That deserves added trust — but it does not replace your family directly confirming the important details.

Is Government ID verification compulsory?

You can register, get approved, and browse matches without it — but Government ID verification is needed to connect freely. Until you verify, the contact details you can reveal are restricted.

  • Browse approved matches — no Government ID needed just to look
  • Before you verify, revealing member contact details is restricted
  • Verify your Government ID once to reveal contacts and connect freely
  • Contacts you have already revealed always stay accessible
  • Verified members also carry a verified badge that families trust more

It is a one-time, private step — your document is reviewed by our team and is never shown on your profile.

Support, privacy, and conduct

How assistance works and what members are expected to follow

What our mediators can help with, what no one can guarantee, and the conduct we expect from every member.

How do your mediators help?

Mediators support the early steps of an alliance:

  • Introducing profiles
  • Helping initiate communication
  • Clarifying basic doubts
  • Sharing early feedback when possible
  • Coordinating calls or WhatsApp communication

Our mediators do not physically attend meetings. Subscribing to the service does not guarantee success, and some contacted profiles may decline or give a negative response.

Does taking mediator assistance guarantee marriage success?

No. Match success still depends on factors such as:

  • Mutual expectations
  • Compatibility
  • Family acceptance
  • Communication between both sides
  • Behaviour during meetings and conversations
  • Long-term understanding

No marriage outcome can ever be guaranteed.

What kind of behaviour is expected from members?

All members are expected to behave respectfully and genuinely. The following is not tolerated:

  • Harassment or abusive language
  • False promises
  • Timepass behaviour
  • Misleading information
  • Misuse of personal information

Such behaviour may lead to profile restriction or permanent removal from the service.

Safety, reporting, and payments

Safety, abuse reporting, refunds, and official support

Safety reporting, refunds, serious misconduct, and the right way to reach our team.

Do you provide refunds after purchasing services or membership?

No. Please clear any doubts with our team through the official contact details before making a payment. Because manual review, moderation, communication support, and member benefits begin soon after purchase, successful payments are generally non-refundable, except in limited bank or payment-provider reversal situations.

What happens if abusive or inappropriate behaviour is reported?

If abusive, threatening, vulgar, fraudulent, sexually inappropriate, or otherwise unsafe behaviour is reported, the profile may be restricted or permanently blocked after review. A paid membership does not protect anyone from this action, and no refund follows it. Reports and related evidence may be documented for safety purposes.

How does the service protect women and handle abuse reports?

A report option is built in for concerns such as:

  • Sexual harassment
  • Fraud behaviour
  • Fake profiles
  • Threatening behaviour
  • Misleading information
  • Abusive communication
  • Suspicious activity

Every report reaches our admin team, who review it and act where needed.

Can legal or police action be taken against abusive users?

Yes. In serious situations involving harassment, fraud, threats, impersonation, blackmail, stalking, sexual misconduct, or other unlawful behaviour, the admin team may cooperate with lawful investigations, and police or legal action may follow where required.

How can I contact the admin team for clarification or support?

Through the Contact page on this website — it lists the official WhatsApp number, email address, and support hours. Communicate only through those official details, and do not trust unofficial third parties claiming to represent the matrimony.
